Bastille Day!

'In the morning we did some art inspired by the bayeux tapestry. We had some visitors from Royal Liberty to teach us about French.  Today has been really fun!'

Year 5 visit Layer Marney Tower

'I enjoyed going to Layer Marney Tower' because we got to do lots of fun activities like making Anglo Saxon jewellery, acting, weaving and looking at some artefacts.  I mainly enjoyed making the Anglo Saxon jewellery.  I learnt lots of new things about the Anglo Saxon's daily life.'
- Maddie, 5N

'When we went to Layer Marney Tower I really enjoyed acting because it was really funny and I got picked and accused of burning the dinner!  We did some jewellery making where I made a rainbow bracelet.  We talked about artefacts and it was really interesting.  Did you know an Anglo Saxon lady's most prize possession was her hairbrush that took a month to make!'
- Phoebe, 5N

Summer Fete

Thank you to all who helped out and attended the Summer Fete, we raised £1,133.2p!

Jam Jar Competition

Thank you to everyone that decorated jam jars for our ‘Jolly Jam Jar’ stall at the Summer Fete.    There were some fantastic jars, and a lot of thought and work had gone into them all.  The winner of the jar competition was Mary V  in 3F, with runner up prizes for Yasmina 3W and Harry G 4F.  Well Done to you all!!

Great Crownfield Bake Off!!!

Thank you very much to everyone that baked the wonderful cakes for our ‘Bake Off’ Competition.  There were some beautiful cakes, and it was great to see so many pupils take part.  The cakes were judged by our very own Mrs Talbot, and she chose Lucas Brierley as a winner from Lower School   and Ava Scott from Upper School.  Well done to those children, and thank you to everyone that baked.  The cakes were all sold at our Fete, and we’re sure they all tasted delicious.

School Council

Today we were delighted to invite the school council from Mawney Foundation School to visit Crownfield Juniors.

After the children arrived by bus we took them on a tour around the school. We asked and answered lots of questions and everyone got on well.

On returning to the class we provided refreshments ( Thank you again to our fabulous kitchen staff, the cake was a big success!) and discussed what we had seen around the school.

Some members of our school council had worked very hard to produce a presentation for everyone to enjoy and shared some of the fantastic things about our school.

It was a really lovely afternoon, all of the children from both schools made us so proud in the mature way they got along.

We look forward to visiting Mawney Foundation School next week.
