New Librarians In Town

Each year, Mrs Smith chooses 15 children from Year 5 to become her Junior Librarians. Here are the children that have been chosen this year!  The children come into the Library at lunchtimes, to help Mrs Smith with various Library tasks, and to help other pupils chose books.  Thank you to all those who volunteered for this position, we look forward to seeing you in our Library, helping to promote a love of reading to all!

Don’t forget you pupils can visit the Library at lunchtimes as follows:
Monday – Year 6

You're Under Arrest!

Year 5 and 6 were visited by the local police this week to talk about some important issues.

'Police came to our school and told us lots of advice to keep us safe.  They also warned us about crimes and what would happen if you were arrested and went to jail.  They said you can be as young as 10 years old to go to be arrested and how you are firstly handcuffed and put into a police vehicle.  They take the person to the police station and call the person's parents if it is a child.  After that, they take DNA evidence and they told us about the possible punishments.
We also spoke about internet safety and stranger danger.  They told us how to be safe and showed us a video.
We loved having the two police officers in, it was a very special assembly with them.'
